New AM General GEP current production 6.5L Diesel Engine Block for CMT Center Mount Turbo applications

This is a bare new block normally used on the assembly line to produce a full engine but is being offered for potential use for a custom project or specific repair. This block is produced in the USA and differs from GM production 6.5 blocks in that this one is heavier and features design changes that improve the rigidity of the block assembly. This is the late model design block that is most similar to the 1998 and later 6.5L Diesel engines.

Block is compatible with former 6.5L block and rotating assembly components. Replacement for blocks with casting numbers ending in 6.5L Diesel casting 141, and 506.

This block comes bare as seen in the pictures and only comes with the 5 expansion casting core plugs and 5 cam bearings, all other necessary block hardware items are not installed. All the hardware block components are available as a product option hardware kit containing the necessary items. Block comes with a light rust preservative (why cylinder bores are dirty looking), not responsible for rust storage issues once shipped, take necessary steps to preserve block if not being used immediately.

The block hardware kit provides all the threaded plugs, press-in plugs, oil spray jets, dowels, and bypass valves. This is an extensive kit with all the hard to find and hidden items.

Additionally, all 6.5L engines utilize select-fit bearings, which starts at the cylinder block. If block is purchased with the optional crankshaft kit product option, we can properly provide the correct bearing configuration that will match the block and crankshaft used. This option will provide both main and rod bearings with the forged crankshaft. Blocks are rarely all standard on the mains, and some forged crankshafts are not standard sized as well. These blocks are production blocks with variances normal to mass-production and this is considered an advanced item.
